The cast
One grandmother. Two grandchildren. Many adventures.
The whole Deen Kids universe is anchored in a single home — Dadi's home — where every story starts with Bismillah and ends with a dua. They teach the live classes during the week and host Sunday Play Day, where every child in the program is recognized by name.
Grandmother · Storyteller-in-chief
Dadi
Wise, gentle, slightly mischievous. Dadi is the keeper of every Deen Kids adventure. She opens the chest. She tells the stories. She remembers the names of every child in every session.
She carries
A lantern of duas
She teaches
Adab, gratitude, kindness
Her catchphrase
"Bismillah, my children."
"Every adventure starts with one small thing — a name, a greeting, a please. That's where Allah begins."
Granddaughter
Ummi
Curious, kind, always asking why?. Ummi is the one who notices the small things — the bird at the window, the friend who looked sad, the dua Dadi forgot to mention. She's the first to volunteer for the mission.
She carries
A small notebook
She teaches
Curiosity & care
Her catchphrase
"But why, Dadi?"
"If I write it in my book, I'll remember to do it tomorrow. That's how a small kindness grows."
Grandson
Abbu
Brave, playful, learning patience. Abbu is the one who runs ahead, the first to try opening the chest — and the one who has to wait the longest while Dadi tells the story behind it. He learns by doing, sometimes the hard way.
He carries
A small wooden sword
He teaches
Courage & patience
His catchphrase
"Wait — I'll go first!"
"Dadi says brave is not running first. Brave is waiting when your sister needs you to."
