Tajweed

A patient, step-by-step programme that helps young children learn Arabic letter sounds, build recitation skills, and recite short Du'as with correct pronunciation and confidence.

Letter Sounds & Pronunciation

Letter Sounds

The Building Blocks of Recitation

Every journey with the Quran begins with the Arabic alphabet. Children learn how each letter sounds and how it is formed in the mouth — with careful attention to the unique sounds that make Arabic distinct.

Through guided listening, gentle repetition, and patient correction, children develop a clear, confident pronunciation. Each letter is practised until the child feels comfortable, with no rushing or pressure to move ahead.

What this module covers

  • All 28 Arabic letters and their individual sounds
  • Correct mouth and tongue positioning (Makharij)
  • Distinguishing between similar-sounding letters
  • Recognising letters in different positions within words
  • Building listening skills for accurate repetition

Tajweed Foundations

Tajweed Foundations

Reciting Correctly, Step by Step

Once children are comfortable with individual letters, they begin learning how letters connect and flow together. This is the foundation of Tajweed — the art of reciting the Quran beautifully and correctly.

Children are introduced to basic Tajweed rules in a way that feels natural, not technical. They learn by listening, repeating, and being gently guided — building accuracy and confidence over time.

What this module covers

  • Joining letters and reading simple words
  • Short and long vowels (Harakaat)
  • Basic Tajweed rules introduced through practice
  • Reading short ayaat with guided support
  • Building fluency at a calm, natural pace

Short Du'as & Recitation

Du'as and Recitation

Words That Stay with Them

Children learn short Du'as and surahs that they can use in their daily lives and in prayer. Each recitation is taught with attention to correct pronunciation and understanding of meaning — so the words carry real significance.

From Du'a before eating to Surah Al-Fatiha, children build a growing collection of recitations they feel confident saying on their own. The focus is always on quality over quantity.

What this module covers

  • Everyday Du'as (eating, sleeping, entering the masjid)
  • Short surahs from Juz Amma with correct Tajweed
  • Understanding the meaning behind each recitation
  • Building confidence to recite independently
  • Practising in a calm, encouraging environment

What Your Child Will Achieve

By the end of the Tajweed programme, your child will have developed a strong foundation in Quran recitation — built through patience, practice, and genuine understanding.

  • Recognise and pronounce Arabic letters correctly
  • Recite short surahs and Du'as with proper Tajweed
  • Build confidence in Quran recitation at their own pace
  • Understand the meaning behind everyday Du'as
  • Develop a love for the Quran through calm, guided practice

How We Teach Tajweed

Patient and repetition-friendly

Tajweed requires careful practice. Our teachers understand that young children need time, patience, and encouragement. Each sound is repeated as many times as needed, and every small improvement is acknowledged.

Listening before reading

Children are not pushed to read before they can hear the difference between sounds. Listening skills are developed first, creating a strong foundation for accurate recitation that lasts.

Building a lifelong connection

The goal is not to rush through the alphabet or finish a certain number of surahs. It is to help each child develop a genuine, lasting connection with the Quran — one that grows with them as they grow.

Help your child build a strong, confident foundation in Quran recitation — guided by patience and built on practice.
